Scope of the Workshop

It is a great pleasure to announce the 4th International workshop on High Frequency Micromagnetic Devices and Materials. This workshop provides an opportunity to bridge semiconductor microelectronics technology and applied ferromagnetic thin-film technology where a number of outstanding new research topics and industrial applications should be awaiting. Along with the regular topics, this year we extend our interest to wide variety of high frequency materials/phenomena/applications, including left handed meta materials and "beyond 10GHz world." Let's get together to find out a new direction of RF magnetics.

Topics (suggestive, rather than restrictive)
- RF magnetic materials
     * thin films, polymer-embedded nano particulate materials, RF ferrite, etc
     * soft materials, non-reciprocal materials, left handed meta materials, etc
- Resonance in magnetic materials
- Characterization of RF/dynamic properties
- Microfabrication and packaging techniques
- Micro power converters
- Magnetic RF MEMS
- Integrated inductors/transformers
- Transmission line devices
- Electromagnetic noise suppressor, High signal integrity applications
- Sensors
- Others

Special notice:

Professor Tatsuo Itoh, UCLA Microwave Electronics Lab., has tentatively accepted the invitation to make an invited talk on his outstanding research on the transmission line approach for the left handed metamaterials at the MMDM4 workshop.

Digest Submission (Closed)
  • The Workshop will consist of invited talks(40-60 min) and contributed talks(nominally 20 min). Interested authors are encouraged to submit (a) digest(s) for the contributed session by no later than March 20th. Detailed instruction is here.
  • It is new from this year that all the digests will be subjected to review process by the program committee. Nevertheless, it remains as a policy of this workshop to accept all the digests unless normal day-time slot overflows.
  • Authors will be notified the completed session schedule by April 3rd.
  • Full version of the presented work can be submitted to the Journal of the Magnetics Society of Japan. Details please refer below.

Proceedings Manuscript Submission (Deadline extended to Mon June 26th)

Presentaing authors are encouraged to submit full version by June 26th, 2006 to be appeared in the November Issue of the Journal of the Magnetics Society of Japan. Note that The Transaction of the Magentics Society of Japan, where former proceedings had been published, is re-organized into the Journal of the Magnetics Society of Japan from January 2006. Click here to see how to submit the full version.
